International Conference KRA

In an era of rapid digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI) technology has become a major catalyst for change in many sectors, including education and research. AI offers tremendous opportunities to support learning, improve research efficiency and drive new innovations. However, the integration of these technologies also brings complex ethical challenges, such as the protection of data privacy, fairness of access, and the potential for algorithmic bias. This conference aims to explore how AI can empower the future of education and research in a responsible and sustainable manner.

Sustainability is one of the key elements in building a more inclusive and resilient world. In the context of education and research, sustainability means ensuring that future generations can access adequate resources to learn and innovate without damaging the environment or harming the global community. The combination of AI and sustainability provides an opportunity to create creative solutions that support lifelong learning and scientific advancement.

Ethics is an important foundation in the use of AI, especially in education and research. Technology developed without regard to ethical values can magnify social inequalities, reduce public trust, and exacerbate global problems. Therefore, integrating ethics in technology design and implementation is a top priority to ensure the positive impact of AI on society at large.

On the other hand, education plays a strategic role in equipping individuals with the necessary skills to face future challenges. By harnessing the potential of AI, educational institutions can create a more personalized, adaptive, and inclusive approach to learning. However, this must be done with the principles of equity and inclusion in mind so that all students regardless of their background have an equal opportunity to succeed.

In order to increase the role of education and research in realizing sustainable development, the Accounting Regional Conference (KRA) which is an International Conference presents the results of scientific research studies by cooperating with several universities in Indonesia and universities abroad. The event was organized by the Indonesian Institute of Accountants Educator Accountant Compartment (IAI KAPd) in collaboration with Airlangga University as the host, a research campus with the motto "Excellence with Morality" located in Surabaya City.

The conference invited academics, researchers, policy makers, and practitioners to come together to discuss, share insights, and find innovative solutions in utilizing AI ethically and sustainably in the fields of education and research. With the theme "Empowering the Future of Education and Research: The Nexus of AI, Ethics, and Sustainability" we will explore new approaches that can strengthen global collaboration for a better future.

    August 19, 2026 – August 20, 2026

The era of global transition—characterized by climate change, economic uncertainty, technological disruption, and geopolitical shifts—requires a new approach to sustainable development. Sustainability is no longer seen only as an environmental issue, but as a strategic integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, innovation, and tangible impact on society and the global economy. As a result, redefining sustainability is a key goal for academia, practitioners, and policymakers aiming to promote inclusive, responsible, and resilient growth.

ESG has become a global standard in decision-making across public and private sectors. Beyond compliance, ESG serves as a strategic framework to create long-term value, strengthen stakeholder trust, and enhance institutional competitiveness. However, its implementation still faces challenges such as regulatory gaps, unequal institutional capacity, and the need for innovative solutions that balance economic, social, and environmental priorities.

Innovation is essential in addressing these challenges. Advances in technology, sustainable business models, and interdisciplinary research create opportunities for meaningful solutions. Academic institutions play a critical role in driving sustainable innovation through knowledge creation, evidence-based research, and cross-sector collaboration. They are also responsible for developing professionals who are not only skilled but also ethically committed to global sustainability.

Impact must be the key measure of successful ESG integration and innovation. True sustainability should generate measurable positive change for organizations, communities, and the environment. Therefore, an international scientific forum is needed to exchange ideas, share best practices, and promote ideas and policies in addressing global sustainability challenges.

The International Conference KRA XIII 2026, “Redefining Sustainability: Integrating ESG, Innovation, and Impact in the Era of Global Transition, Wani Rek!!!,” provides academics, researchers, professionals, and policymakers from around the world with an opportunity to share research and strategic insights. This conference promotes dialogue and global cooperation to advance sustainable development. The conference aims to bridge academia and practice, generating actionable recommendations for science, public policy, and support sustainable business. With the spirit of “Wani Rek!!!,” we invite all stakeholders to innovate boldly, collaborate actively, and contribute to a more inclusive and impactful sustainable future.
